Our old chook shed would have been fantastic if it had been made correctly, or even completed. Straw bale is a great design but it does have to be rendered. Unfortunately the previous owners didn't render ours so the rats got in and the result was catastrophic. So I have started pulling it apart and renovating it. Hopefully it will be completed in the next few days. We did have an exciting time when eight rats came scuttling out from one wall. My helper was overcome with excitement and had to have a rest.
